New Rates and Big Dates!

Hello Timberfield,

After one whole year of deliberation, we have the latest issue of the HOA newsletter releasing today. I should disclose that no trees were harmed in the making of this letter, but some of you may receive a paper version if for some reason we don’t have your email address, or you don’t know your password. Even in that case, I assure you, the paper is recycled (probably).

The board has four things to update you on – not counting a plea to stop speeding through the neighborhood. Here it goes.

Yard Sale

They say that the neighborhood that sells together stays together. So, to protect our HOA family, we are planning a neighborhood yard sale. This is your opportunity to sell off that useless airpump that connects to your cigarette lighter. It’s also a chance to sell all those cigarette lighters.

  • What: Timberfield Yard Sale
  • When: The first Saturday of June – June 7th

Annual Meeting

If you want to connect with your neighbors, go on walk. If you want to discuss important neighborhood issues with them, bring it to the annual meeting. This year’s annual meeting will be at the Franklin Road library on March 24th. Uncle Sam reminds you that your voice matters. Uncle Kyle, our HOA treasurer, reminds you that your timely payment matters more. Do both, but if you’re not going to do one, please do the other. We’ll see you there.

  • What: Annual HOA Meeting
  • When: March 24th, 2025 – 7:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Where: The Library at 5550 South Franklin Road
  • Why? Because we like you.

Your Rates Are Increasing

Whoops! See how I just slipped that in? Well it’s true. After no less than 8 years of losses, the HOA board has reluctantly (but alertly) come to the conclusion that the rates will need to increase to account for the expenses incurred. FYI — We cover these expenses here on the website and at the annual meeting, if you have questions.

Here’s what the new rates look like.

  • Home owner dues: now $340 annually (9.7% increase)
  • Additional pond owner dues: now $160 annually (7.4% increase)

The good news? We now will accept credit cards online with no additional fee. In fact, that is the preferred method of payment. Look out for an invoice coming to you digitally where you can pay securely online.

Online Payment

As alluded to above, we are now the HOA of the future. And it’s good, because we’ve learned the hard way that a position on the board is unpaid (I didn’t find out until what I thought was payday, actually). Because of that, and for the sake of keeping those costs really low, we’re implementing every automation we can to reduce the work on those of us who serve on this board, and for you when you step up to volunteer next year! (wink)

  • What: Pay online
  • When: Just wait for an invoice in your email
  • How: Great question. We’ll need your email. To make sure we have it, provide your name, email and address to board@timberfield.net and we’ll be sure your bill is delivered.

Last thing. I would be remiss if I didn’t say it – thanks to our board members for helping keep our neighborhood a premier place to live. (Also thanks to me for this letter, it took me 6 weeks to write.)

See you in the neighborhood!

The Board.
